Make certain you have these things on hand to make the ultimate wet bar when you need it.
1) Sink
A great wet bar has a sink. Make sure your wet bar is spacious with a sink.
2) Wet bar basics
Be organized and appealing. Have a place for guests to sit and enjoy their drinks at their leisure. You can have bar stools or a sitting area close to the bar.
3) Refrigeration
Drinks are best served cold. Ensure that your white wine and beer are always served cold. Some red wines can have a little chilling to make them better. However, if space is limited ditch the red wine for the white for the ice. The best way to achieve your cold beer and white wine is to have a tub or container to hold your ice. Place the white wine and beer inside of the container to serve perfectly for a great wet bar.
4) Basic drinks
Vodka, whiskey, tequila, scotch, gin and rum are the wet bar basic drinks. All of these should be on hand at all times. These standards build a bar and nearly any drink can be created with one of these. Add to your bar to make it stand out. Use flavored liqueurs that include cinnamon, orange, and coffee in addition to peppermint. Your beer and wine should be included with your basics. Beer can be domestic as well as imported.
5) Glasses
Glasses should be short in addition to tall. Some bartenders will even add a shot glass or different types of wine glasses for variety. Red wine glasses are larger in width than white wine glasses. Margarita glasses are great of margaritas and they just taste better in their unique glass. Champagne isn’t served that often, but if you are preparing for a special occasion where it will be served, have these glasses on hand for a terrific wet bar.
6) Mixers
You have the basics, but now you need the mixers. Mixers are needed or all of the basics that you have in your wet bar. Fruit as well as vegetable mixers are required. Sparkling water, tonic water, club soda besides cola soda and citrus soda are the most popular. You can certainly add others that aren’t as common, but may be among favorite drinks you enjoy yourself.
7) Garnishes
You have your basics and your mixers, now you want to add the cherry on top. Literally add the cherry on top with your garnishes. These are olives, cherries, slices of lemon and lime and even rind. Your tropical beverages need coconut and pineapple.
8) Gadgets and gizmos
Gadgets and gizmos are needed. Jiggers are needed to measure your libations and blenders are a must for margaritas and pina coladas. Bottle openers for beer and have your straws, napkins, cork screws and stirrers. A bar towel to clean up around your wet bar is terrific.
